Organic coconut flour is a grain-free, wheat-free, and naturally gluten-free alternative to other flours. It is a naturally sweet, fine powder suitable for those following a paleo, gluten-free or plant-based lifestyle. Producers make coconut flour by removing fresh organic coconut meat from the coconut, drying it, and extracting oil. Then, they grind the dried meat into a powder resembling wheat flour. Like other flours, you can use Coconut Flour to make bread, muffins, cookies, fritters, pancakes, or slow-cooked creations. However, its high fibre content and density mean you cannot use Coconut Flour in the same ratio as other flours. It will require more liquid and additional eggs added to a recipe. 1 cup wheat flour = 1/3 coconut flour, Add 1 egg and 1/3 cup of extra liquid for every 1/3 cup of organic coconut flour. Coconut Twist is a mini collection of my favourite recipes using coconut products. Coconut oil and desiccated coconut feature in many recipes. However, many use coconut flour and coconut sugar in paleo, keto, vegan or plant-based diets or in specific cuisines. I've learnt that coconut sugar can be used in the same ratio as white or caster sugar. Coconut flour, on the other hand, absorbs a lot of liquid and should be used in a 1:4 ratio of plain flour. The lymphatic system is a network of delicate tubes throughout the body; in simplistic terms, it is our body’s ‘sewerage system.’ The lymphatic system is essential for the optimal functioning of our general and specific immune responses. It drains fluid (called lymph) that has leaked from the blood vessels into the tissues and empties it back into the bloodstream via the lymph nodes. Overview of the lymphatic system and how to improve a sluggish one Lymph nodes are the filters in our body. They exist at various points around the body, including the throat, armpits, chest, abdomen and groin. Many detox programs are available, and many have a different focus. The Dr Cabot Cleanse is a 15-day detox plan to restore gut and liver health and reduce inflammation and acidity. This is an easy-to-make Coconut Crab Curry Recipe! Loved by anyone who loves curries and crabs. In the recipe, I use blue swimmer crabs as I find them easier to prepare. You can also use Mud crabs. **I also use a spice blend - South Indian Seafood Masala, from Gewurzhaus. This contains salt, coriander, raw sugar, mustard seed, cumin, chilli, turmeric, cinnamon, nutmeg banda, clove, cardamom, ginger, fennel, pepper, and cassia. The spice is rich but not chilli hot. Hoyts Mild Curry Powder is a great mild alternative and is available in supermarkets. Prep time: 25 minutes Cooking time: 20 minutes Serves: 2 Coconut Crab Curry Ingredients 2 blue swimmer crabs 1 garlic clove (adjust based on your taste. I use a very small amount) 3 cm piece of fresh ginger (Adjust on what suits your taste) 2 small tomatoes (or 1/2 a can of tomatoes)
